John R. Bradford, III, obtained his North Carolina Broker’s license in mid-2003 and started Park Avenue Properties on a part-time basis with two other partners as a Real Estate Development firm. In early 2007, John became the firm’s sole owner, moved the office to its current location and re-invented the firm into a Real Estate and Property Management firm.
John is a Charleston, SC, area native. He holds an Engineering degree from Clemson University where he graduated in December 1996 with Engineering Honors and Cum Laude. While attending Clemson he was a member and, ultimately, served as President of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He received the University’s coveted Greek Man of the Year Award in 1996. Today, he serves as Vice President of the Housing Corporation for the Clemson Chapter.
Immediately out of college he worked for Exxon as a Sr. Environmental Engineer and Territory Manager for 3 ½ years. In August 1998, Exxon sponsored John in the University of Memphis’ Executive MBA program and was their youngest student ever to be accepted into the program. John served as the University of Memphis mascot, Pouncer, for the two years he was enrolled in the program. In June 2000, John graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was recruited by IBM Corporation. John worked at IBM for almost 10 years and served in various roles including Management and as an award-winning Sales Executive.
John has served on various professional and charitable Boards as President and other leadership roles. Recently, he was selected to serve on the National Board of Directors for the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM ®) as a Regional Vice President. He has also served as a National Vice Chairperson on the NARPM ® Member Services committee as well as a member of National’s Long Range Planning Committee. At the NARPM ® State and local level John served as a past President and Vice President of the Charlotte Chapter. He is the current President of the University of Memphis Charlotte Alumni Club.
John received his RMP ® (Residential Management Professional) designation from NARPM ® in 2008 and is a MPM ® (Master Management Professional) candidate.
He is married to Shea Bradford and has four children: Jack, Molly and identical twin girls, Sophie and Macy. In his spare time he enjoys boating, fishing, camping and, of course, real estate.
